Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls Seeks Adult Women MentorsWe’re writing to let you know about a great low/no-cost opportunity for girls in New York City this summer. Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls is a non-profit summer day camp serving girls aged 8-18. The program offers girls the chance to learn how to play musical instruments, write songs, perform, learn about different types of music, and generally rock out. The goal is to bring girls from different backgrounds together for activities that encourage self-confidence, creativity, critical thinking, tolerance, and collaboration. We had a great first season last year, and this summer we’re hoping to reach even more girls. Details about this year’s sessions are listed below, and more information, and camper applications are available at www.williemaerockcamp.org.
